Gennady Golovkin Defeats Martin Murray In Round 11
Gennady Golovkin returned to defend his middleweight titles last night (Saturday Feb 21st, 2015) as he battled the gritty Brit Martin Murray in Monte Carlo. Many were expecting an early knockout for “GGG”, but the bout drew out in to the later rounds. Murray proved tougher than many opponents Golovkin faced, but presented little problems.
“Good Boy” bashed and smashed his way to an eleventh round TKO win over a bloodied and clearly beaten Murray. It was tough for the army of British fans to watch, but inevitable at the same time.
Gennady Golovkin is truly one of the greatest middleweights of our era; his punching power is scary, and also entertaining to watch, and he has stamina to go in to the later rounds. With the win, Golovkin moves to 32-0 with 29 knockouts.
