Nonito Donaire vs William Prado On March 28th
Nonito Donaire vs William Prado is official…..
Nonito Donaire is moving back to the bantamweight division, after a crushing sixth round knockout loss to Nicholas Walters. “The Filipino Flash” is a former five-weight champion, winning titles in featherweight, flyweight, super flyweight, super bantam and bantamweight divisions.
He returns to action against the relatively unknown William Prado. Aged 31, with a mediocre resume, Prado is a confidence builder for Donaire, but why does he even need one?
Admittedly, the 32-year old was dominated by Walters, but he was clearly under sized for that fight. It wasn’t as if there was a huge gap in talent, or that Donaire needs to work on anything n particular. He was just bullied by a man twice his size.
The fight will go down in the Philippines on March 28th, so will clearly be a huge draw for the hometown fighter. The partisan crowd along with the fact that his Brazilian foe is overmatched, should make Nonito Donaire vs William Prado an epic squash match.
It seems pointless wondering what’s next for Donaire at this point, as he likely could’ve walked in to a well-billed title fight after the loss to Walters. Why his management has chosen an unknown for his return is confusing, to say the least.
