Nonito Donaire returned to action on the Golovkin vs Rubio card this past Saturday (October 17th, 2014) in an attempt to make the first defense of his WBA super featherweight belt. Five-division champion “The Filipino Flash” was heavily favoured to win against the Jamaican “Axe Man”, but things didn’t go quite as planned for Donaire.
