According to latest boxing rumours, Floyd Mayweather might finaly face Manny Pacquiao in May 2015 as sources close to Mayweather camp hinted that the fight is a big possibitliy next year if both Mayeaweather and Pacqauioa win their 2014 fights.

A source close to Mayweather Snr has hinted that Mayweather camp are ready for a showdown fight against Pacquiao if the fight can generate substantial money. Mayeather himself dropped a massive hint when he announced the rematch against Marcos Maidana, he stated that once he finished with Maidana rematch he will be fighting in May 2015 and will have a bit surprise for boxing fans.

Mayweather of course will be fighting against Maidana for the second time this year on 13 September and looking at the first fight tape we can safely say that this time around Mayweather will outbox Maidana and win another points decision if not a knockout. Maybe this “May 2015 hint” is just another marketing tool used by Mayweather to promote his current fight against Maidana which won’t get as big reception as the first one did.

Manny Pacquiao on the other hand extended his contract with Bob Arum a few months back which will take his current ties with Top Rank till the end of 2016 at which point he will turn 38 and most of the boxing fans would have lost interest in Pac-May fight.

The big stumbling point is seem to be Mayweather who is keen to fight pacuquiao for some reason but there is so much money involved that it will be hard from him to shy away from what could turn out to be the biggest money spinner in boxing history.

Bob Arum stated after top rank extended their contract with Pacquioa, we want to fight him (Mayweather) but there are two ways it can happen, first if top rank and showtime gel together and put up the fight just like Lewis-Tyson or Mayweather can finish is contract with Showtime which runs till 2016 and fight under top rank banner”
