Just a few days ago, the legendary Swiss duo of Roger Federer and Martina Hingis confirmed their partnership for the mixed doubles event at next year’s Rio Olympics. This coalition left people anticipating that Stanislas Wawrinka would join hands with Belinda Bencic as the second team from the nation.

However, the 18-year-old Bencic divulged that she has not yet corroborated over the possible camaraderie with Wawrinka. “A lot of people are asking me this but I cannot decide this. For sure it was Roger and Martina who were deciding and I’m so happy that it went good with them,” Bencic was quoted as saying by Sport360.

Besides confirming her participation for the singles event, Bencic informed that she will be chasing the women’s doubles title along with Hingis. “I’m ready to play singles and I’m playing doubles with Martina and for mixed, I hope, I will be ready, but it’s not (decided yet).”

Bencic, who winded up the 2015 season with a decent 41-22 record with two titles in Eastbourne and Toronto, is currently representing the Singapore Slammers at the ongoing International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) before she kicks-off her preparations for the Australian Open 2016.
