Just days after Deutsche Welle reporter Julieth Gonzalez Theran was kissed and groped on the breast, two more female journalists were misbehaved with during live broadcast at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia

While previewing the contest between Japan and Senegal last weekend, TV Globo’s Julia Guimaraes dodged a man forcibly trying to kiss her on the cheek. “Don’t do this. I don’t allow you to do this…. This is not right. Never do this to a woman,” she yelled.

The Brazilian later took to Twitter to label the incident ‘shameful’. “It’s hard to find words… Luckily, I never lived in Brazil! Here it has happened twice. Sad! Shameful!” she wrote.

A similar incident took place after the Russia-Uruguay game earlier this week.

France24’s Kethevane Gorjestani continued to do her job even as an encroacher kept his hand over her shoulder and tried to kiss her from the back.

She, too, expressed displeasure on Twitter, writing: “Sadly this (and worse) happens to us female sports reporters regularly, especially when covering football.

“By all means sing, dance and celebrate your team but don’t kiss me, don’t grope me and let me do my job #letherwork #deixaelatrabalhar.”
