World No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia might warm up for the Wimbledon Championships 2015 by competing at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, a 500 series event on ATP World Tour.

According to tournament director Ralf Weber, the officials are in a close contact with Djokovic and his team for the final confirmation, even as much depends on his performance at the Roland Garros 2015.

“We are in close contact with him and his entourage,” Ralf was quoted as saying by UbiTennis.

“However much depends on the performance of Novak at Roland Garros that has particular importance for its season,” he added, before confirming that if the Serb settles on playing a tournament that week, it would be Halle.

Should Djokovic turn up with a positive nod, he will be joining a star-studded field that comprises of his top rival and 7-time defending champion, Roger Federer.

Furthermore, Ralf notified that this year’s tournament will also boast Croatian teen sensation, Borna Coric, who has already pulled off upset wins over Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray in his short but sweet career.

“I’m sure he’s a great buy for the tournament and (we) plan to ensure his presence in the years ahead,” he signed off.
