Just a couple of days back, Ajla Tomljanovic and Nick Kyrgios practiced with each other at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane. And the couple is in the news again!

Tomljanovic, who has applied for Australian citizenship so as to be able to represent the country in non-Grand Slam events as well, said that she got 20 out of 20 test questions right, compared to 18 correct answers from Kyrgios.

Although both represent Australia currently, Kyrgios is half Greek and half Malaysian, while Tomljanovic, who was born in Croatia, is only allowed to represent Australia in Grand Slam events until she gets an Australian passport.

“[I’m] more Australian than him,” the 24-year-old was quoted as saying by Courier Mail.

Meanwhile, Tomljanovic also turned in defence of Kyrgios, who is often criticized for his volatile behaviour on court.

“What is perceived on TV and in the papers is what comes out on court. We all have that negative part of ourselves when things aren’t going well,” she said.

“They don’t see the genuine part when he’s with his friends and family. A lot of things aren’t fair in life. You can’t help it.”
