WATCH: Maria Sharapova Adds Touch of Beauty to Floating Tennis Court in Singapore
Russian tennis superstar, Maria Sharapova, marked her return to the court on Thursday after almost a month-long break, but not in an unusual manner.
The 28-year-old Sharapova, who is scheduled to feature in the WTA Finals in Singapore starting next week, played an exhibition match with former tennis player Michael Chang on a floating surface, the first ever built in Singapore by TAG Heuer.
This is not the first time that the tennis players have exchanged rallies afloat. Earlier, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal had also played on a similar court in Qatar, before Eugenie Bouchard and Milos Raonic did the same in Mexico.
