Last year, Rafael Nadal took his t-shirt off and plunged into the pool with ballkids after winning his 10th Barcelona Open title.

Exactly one year on, he did the same.

Following his 6-2 6-1 conquest of Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in Sunday’s final that saw him pull off his 11th title in the Spanish city, Nadal celebrated with the ballkids by jumping into the pool.

And boy, he became a kid among kids before he swam his way out of the group.

“It’s very difficult to describe how to win 11 titles at one tournament,” Nadal said after the triumph.

He added, “To win 11 Monte Carlos and 11 Barcelonas is something I couldn’t imagine doing. I’m just enjoying every week and the fact I’m playing in a tournament that I enjoy so much means a lot to me.”

By the virtue of his latest victory, Nadal has now won 46 consecutive sets on clay. A winner of 17 Grand Slams, the ‘King of Clay’ will look to continue justifying the moniker when he next competes at Masters events in Madrid and Rome before the all-important Roland Garros that begins later this month.
