Italian tennis player Fabio Fognini rallied to prevail 6-7 7-5 6-2 over Thomaz Belluci of Brazil in the first round of the Rio Open on Tuesday.

En route to the victory, Fognini pulled off an incredible point.

While serving for the second set, 30-year-old dropped his racket immediately after unleashing a serve. Fortunately for him, the racket ricocheted off the clay court as he quickly had it back in his hand and continued the rally.

Fognini went on to win the point before going on to win the deciding set too.

Meanwhile, Fognini is slated to cross the swords with American Tenny Sandgren on Wednesday; the winner of which will book a quarter-final berth.
