Two-time Grand Slam champion Stanislas Wawrinka has been confirmed to lead the 32-player field at the St. Petersburg Open, in what promises to be the tournament’s best-ever line-up.

The fourth-ranked Wawrinka is slated to attract the top billing, with the likes of defending champion Milos Raoninc (No. 6) and Tomas Berdych (No. 8) being the other Top 10 players in fray.

The tournament will be Wawrinka’s only competitive event in September besides the preceding US Open. He will, then, feature in Shanghai, Basel and Paris before trying out his luck for the year-ending ATP Finals.

Former World No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic will also earn a direct entry into the main draw by the virtue of his protected ranking.

The ATP 250 event here is scheduled to be held from September 19-25 on the hard courts of Russia.
