If there’s someone who has caused trouble for World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the recent past, it has been Stanislas Wawrinka. The Swiss tennis star has beaten the fancied Serb on four occasions throughout his career including the last year’s French Open final.

Wawrinka is confident that this time would be no different when he squares-off against Djokovic, should the duo make the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships that got underway on Monday here.

“He has dominated for sure so it is going to be tough but I’m sure there will be an opportunity,” Wawrinka was quoted as saying by 7Days.

Recalling his past battles with the Djokovic, the Swiss added: “We had some tough battles in Grand Slams and I have always played my best tennis so I feel I have a game I can trust and can go on to beat him.”

Meanwhile, the top-seeded Djokovic showed no mercy in thrashing Spain’s Tommy Robredo 6-1 6-2 in the tournament opener, while Wawrinka is scheduled to cross the swords with Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky in the first round on Tuesday here.
