It took Serena Williams some time to realize that her big serve landed in at the championship point, and there it was. She jumped in joy time and again. And why not? For she won her record 19th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open 2015.

The American powerhouse continued her dominance over Russia’s Maria Sharapova by recording a convincing 6-3 7-6 conquest of her Russian counterpart in the title-clash at the renowned Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, thereby bagging her 6th crown at the coveted tournament Down Under.

Serena looked in supreme touch, firing as many as 18 aces and winning 84 per cent of her first-serve points, as she improved her head-to-head record against Sharapova by 17-2.

By the virtue of this triumph, the American ace surpasses legends Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert in the list of most Grand Slam titles won by a woman. Steffi Graf (22) is the only player ahead of Serena in the list.

TSM Plug wishes hearty congratulations to Serena on yet another triumph!
