It’s no secret that Serena Williams’ serve is second to none in the women’s circuit. And on Tuesday, the American superstar found a new fan of her booming weapon in none other than Roger Federer.

Williams and Federer locked horns while representing their respective countries at the Hopman Cup. Federer, along with his Swiss teammate Belinda Bencic, prevailed 4-2 4-3 over Williams and her partner Frances Tiafoe.

And, Federer was all ga-ga of Williams as he compared her serves with those of his.

“People talk a lot about her service and I realized why today. It is very difficult to read. We have some similar qualities in the service, but I think hers is better than mine,” the 20-time Grand Slam champion was quoted as saying.

Further talking about facing Williams, a 23-time Major winner, for the first time in a competitive match, Federer said: “I was too nervous to respond and to serve, because on the other side of the net was Serena Williams.

“It’s a special feeling. She is a great champion and we all can feel her determination and passion. That’s what I love about her.”

Meanwhile, the two teams are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, with United States facing Great Britain before Switzerland take on Greece.
