Roger Federer hasn’t played a left-handed player on clay in a while.

Not surprisingly he decided to hit the court with a southpaw ahead of his French Open semi-final clash against Spanish favourite Rafael Nadal, scheduled to be held on Friday.

According to a report by bolamarela, the Swiss ace called up 20-year-old Corentin Moutet, who like Nadal, is a leftie, for a practice session on Thursday.

For those unaware, Moutet made the most of a wildcard entry into the main draw of the Parisian Slam as he reached the third round, recording wins over Alexey Vatutin and Guido Pella in the process.

His run came to an end after he went down fighting to Juan Ignacio Londero in a five-set thriller.

As for Federer, he will have to play out of his skin to have a chance against Nadal, who has won 13 off their 15 head-to-head encounters on clay.
