World No. 5 Rafael Nadal will continue his comeback bid at next week’s Western and Southern Open (also known as Cincinnati Masters) that runs from August 15-21 on the American hard courts.

The Spaniard hadn’t featured on court since pulling out of the French Open due to wrist injury, but ended a three-month hiatus at the ongoing Olympic Games in Rio, where he clinched the men’s doubles gold alongside compatriot Marc Lopez and made it to the semi-finals of the singles event.

Even as Nadal has stressed on multiple occasions that his wrist is still not perfectly fine, he has been confirmed in Cincinnati draw.

The 30-year-old, seeded number three behind only Great Britain’s Andy Murray and Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka, has a bye in the first round, and will open his campaign against either American Sam Querrey or Uruguyan Pablo Cuevas.

Meanwhile, Nadal will look to confirm himself another medal when he squares-off against London bronze-medalist Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina in the semi-finals on Saturday.
