Swiss maestro Roger Federer is known for his self-effacing talks. Not only does he look unruffled on court, but his off-court conduct is also very analogous.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion is well ahead of his arch-rival Rafael Nadal (14) in the list of most major titles by a man. However, it won’t come as a bombshell to Federer if the latter succeeds in surpassing his record.

Federer, 33, seems utterly sentient of the verity that Nadal is a perennial favorite on clay. On the contrary, it has been a long time since Federer last emerged triumphant at the Grand Slams.

“If he wins the French Open a few more times and I don’t win any more, then clearly he can catch me very quickly,” Federer was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

Federer and Nadal have been involved in some grueling encounters in the past, with the latter leading their head-to-head record by 23-10.
