Elina Svitolina took to social media to share a bizarre incident that took place during the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, off the court.

According to the Ukrainian tennis star’s tweet, as many as four policemen broke into hotel room where she was (presumably) staying with her boyfriend Gael Monfils.

What more? The quartet pointed guns at them and screamed ‘hands up’, Svitolina revealed.

“Our faces when 4 policeman break into our hotel room and point guns at us and scream “Hands up” #relaxingday,” the 24-year-old wrote to her 92.7K followers.

According to bolamarela.pt, it all started after police got reports of gunshots at the hotel where players were staying. The rooms were later evacuated as a safety measure.

Meanwhile, both Svitolina and Monfils enjoyed decent runs in their respective events.

While Svitolina made it to the semi-finals before losing to Bianca Andreescu, Monfils looked in fine touch but had his run curtailed in the quarter-finals due to an injury.
