Novak Djokovic is Perfect, Unbeatable: Kuerten

Former World No. 1 and three-time French Open champion, Gustavo Kuerten, had rich words of praise for Serbia’s top-ranked player Novak Djokovic, touting him a ‘perfect’ and an ‘unbeatable’ tennis star.

The 28-year-old Djokovic has been in the form of his life, having won a whopping 83 matches last year and is yet to lose a battle this season. The Serb has consistently managed to eclipse his top rivals that saw him win three off the four Grand Slam titles in 2015, including the season-ending US Open.

Kuerten insists that although Djokovic was not at his usual best during America’s mega-event, he could still lay his hands upon the winning trophy, which sets him apart.

“It is absurd level of achievement. I’m surprised he won the US Open (2015). He did not play well (there) and he was still champion. Someone who is able to do that in a Grand Slam comes as a scare,” Kuerten told TerceiroTempo.

Opining further, the 39-year-old said: “It is almost perfect tennis. His mental game makes him virtually unbeatable and invincible. Hardly will any player be able to approach his level over the next two years.”
