Fabio Fognini is known for his straight-forward outlook on court; and off it, he seems to be no different.

The Italian tennis star heaped rich praise on World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, touting him as a player from ‘another planet’. No wonder, the Serb had an incredible 2015 season, winning as many as 11 titles including 3 Grand Slam triumphs that saw him extend his lead at the core of world rankings.

“Right now, Novak is from another planet,” Fognini told of Djokovic (via puntodebreak), who winded up the year with a career-best 83-6 record. “Only 6 losses and 11 victories in tournaments in 2015 are proof of the superiority maintained,” he added.

Fognini further opined that Roger Federer is the only player who can beat Djokovic, but admits that the Swiss ace is yet to match up with his Serbian counterpart.

“Federer is the only one who can beat him, but Nole is dominating,” he said on the Federer-Djokovic rivalry that took place 8 times this season, with the latter winning 5 of them.

Speaking about Federer’s chances of winning adding on to his 17 Grand Slam tally, Fognini opined: “Honestly I find it hard to say no, but against a Djokovic, Roger has to play the best and hope that Nole’s having a bad day.”
