Novak Djokovic Cannot Repeat a Year Like 2015, Says Roger Federer

Novak Djokovic capped off an incredible year by clinching the prestigious World Tour Finals after defeating arch-rival Roger Federer in Sunday’s title-clash. He garnered as many as 11 titles this season and extended his dominance at the zenith of rankings, finishing with an exceptional 83-6 record.

However, Federer believes that although it would be hard for the Serb to have a bad season, he just cannot repeat the heroics next time around.

“It’s not the first good year for Novak. Certainly he’s going into next year with massive confidence. He’s playing great,” Federer was quoted as saying by Emirates 24/7. “It’s going to be hard for him to have a bad year, but you can’t just repeat a year like this.

“It takes a lot of effort. You’ve got to be in shape physically with no injuries whatsoever.  Mentally you have to be at your peak at all times. It’s not as easy as it seems sometimes.”

Notably, this is not the first time that Djokovic has run a ring around all his opponents. In 2011, he winded up with an imposing 78-7 record, and went on to notch up 77-12 (2012), 79-10 (2013), and 67-9 (2014) in the subsequent years.

It, however, remains to be seen if Djokovic subsists with his godly form next season or will Federer’s experience be accentuated.
