On the back of winning his 11th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open last month, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic received rich words of praise from former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, who backed him to extend his domination in the years to come.

Ivanisevic appeared mighty impressed with Djokovic’s mounting supremacy, as he put up the money for the Serb to break all the records and extend his Grand Slam tally to 20, which would be the highest ever by a male tennis player.

“The way he’s playing, he’s controlling everything. He’s so dominating; he can do whatever he wants,” Ivanisevic told The Tennis Podcast. “You cannot do too much against him at the moment. He can break all the records, if he’s healthy.

“Honestly, as a coach, as an ex-player, I don’t know what tactics you can give to your player to beat him. He can play for another 5 or 6 years. He can win 2 Grand Slams every year. That’s 20.”

The 28-year-old Djokovic is currently 5th in the list of all-time Grand Slam winners, trailing the likes of Roy Emerson (12), Rafael Nadal (14), Pete Sampras (14), and Roger Federer (17).
