Nick Kyrgios served up a cheeky remark on Novak Djokovic’s controversial break during the last week’s US Open final against Stanislas Wawrinka.

Djokovic, the current World No. 1, was accused of employing cheeky tactics after he took a medical time-out midway during the fourth set, thereby raising a few eyebrows.

Kyrgios, somewhat, found himself in a similar position after he called on the physio to treat his bleeding nose during Australia’s Davis Cup tie against Ukraine on Friday.

The 22-year-old, however, cleared the air after the match as he stressed that he is “not trying to do a Novak.”

“I’m not like trying to do a Novak at the US Open,” Kyrgios was quoted as saying by Fox Sports. “I’ve got a blocked nose, mate. I’ve got to fix it. I can’t play with blood coming out of my nose.

“I mean, I want to play. I don’t want to take breaks. It was tough. It breaks the momentum. Obviously, the other guy doesn’t really know what’s going on either.

It, however, had little effect on Kyrgios as he comfortably cruised to pull off a straight-set 6-3 6-2 6-4 conquest of Andrej Martin to give his side an early lead.
