In her first match since her third-round loss (to Angelique Kerber) at the Australian Open in January, Maria Sharapova was handed a stunning 4-6 6-4 6-3 defeat by Monica Niculescu in the first round of the WTA Premier event in Doha, Qatar, on Monday.

Despite the early exit, Sharapova looked in high spirits as she went sight-seeing on Tuesday evening. She paid a visit to Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, a museum in the municipality of Ar-Rayyan.

The 30-year-old later took to her official Instagram account to share a few of her pictures from the outing.

“Sunsets in Qatar,” she captioned a picture, in which she can be seen emulating an effigy’s pose.

Meanwhile, Sharapova will look to regain her form when she next competes at the Dubai Duty Free Championships, another WTA Premier event, scheduled to be held from February 19-24.
