World No. 1 ranking, 11 Grand Slam titles, and 61 ATP titles: Novak Djokovic has achieved what not everyone can. But, his craving doesn’t end here.

In an interview with Dawn, the Serb was asked about what has been the force behind his dominance over the years. “Some circumstances in life came along well for me. I started playing tennis when I was 4-5 years old. I’m very grateful to life to play the sport I love,” said Djokovic.

Ever since climbing atop ATP rankings in 2012, Djokovic’s dominance has been persistent, and has gone on to consolidate the position for over 187 weeks now. Reflecting on this feat, the 28-year-old feels this has been a dream come true.

“And to be the best in the world, I always dreamt of when I was a kid to be a multiple Grand Slam champion and to be in this position,” he continued further.

“So, I try to cherish every moment on the court; I try to nurture all these great values and kind of continue to respect the life, the sport, because I still want to achieve more.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic faced his first loss in 2016 after an eye issue compelled his withdrawal from the quarter-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships earlier this week.
