“I’m very excited to play Hopman Cup for the first time,” Garcia was quoted as saying by “It’s going to be fun to play with Gael. He’s a very good player, an amazing showman so I look forward to playing mixed with him.”

Ukraine, making just their fourth appearance at the tournament, will be represented by two debutants – Alexandr Dolgopolov and Elina Svitolina.

“It’s the first time for me there [Perth]. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about it from players so I’m really excited to go there,” Dolgopolov was quoted as saying.

Besides France and Ukraine, the other nations to view for the title include Australia (Lleyton Hewitt, Casey Dellacqua) and Great Britain (Andy Murray, Heather Watson).

The mixed-team event comprises of best-of-three matches in a tie, with the mixed doubles rubber following the men’s singles and the women’s singles match.
