Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard expressed concerns over the Zika virus threat that is slated to play the spoilsport at the next month’s Rio Olympics.

While many athletes have decided to give the sport’s mega-event a miss due to the potential danger of the mosquito-borne virus, there are some who are still indecisive of their participation. Bouchard is the latest addition to the latter.

“It’s not the best thing that’s happening in Brazil and for me as well,” she said at the pre-tournament press conference at Wimbledon, as quoted by Yahoo Sports. “It will be my first Games and to have something like this that might stress me out before the Olympics, it’s not ideal.”

The 22-year-old, however, insists that she’s not thinking anything beyond the Wimbledon as for now. “I’m not concentrating on that now. It’s Wimbledon, and I’ll make a decision before the Games about whether I’ll play or not,” added the former All England Club finalist.

The unseeded Bouchard is scheduled to cross the swords with Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia in the first round on Tuesday.
