Beating a champion like Serena Williams cannot be called just a win, it’s an achievement. And Danish tennis star, Caroline Wozniacki, pulled off this feat after stunning the American powerhouse with a straight-set win at an exhibition encounter held in Herning, Denmark on Thursday.

It’s not an obscure fact that Wozniacki and Williams are the best pals on the women’s tour. But, the former didn’t making light work of the latter, clinching a clinical 6-3 6-4 triumph in front of 7000 people.

Notably, this was Wozniacki’s second win against Williams (1-10), having previously beaten her in Miami 2012.

“It was such a great thing to play in front of my home crowd here in Herning, and at the same time to play against a great champion and a good friend,” Wozniacki was quoted as saying by WTA website.

She added: “I hope very much to be able to play in Denmark again in the future. It’s been a great pleasure to come and play here.”
