Bolstered by his 24th Masters title in Cincinnati last week, Swiss ace Roger Federer has regained the No. 2 spot in the latest release of the men’s singles rankings. This could turn out to be of great assistance to his seeding at the US Open that begins next week.

With an aggregate of 9065 points in his kitty, the 34-year-old Federer is second to Serbia’s Novak Djokovic (14,865), the runner-up at Cincinnati. Great Britain’s Andy Murray, who also lost out to Federer in the semi-finals, descends a ladder to No. 3 with 8840 points.
