Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic has had a forgettable career at the Olympics. After an injury compelled her withdrawal from the 2008 Beijing games, she made her debut in London 2012 but without bearing any fruits.

However, with Rio 2016 not too far away, the 28-year-old will look forward to ending her Olympic drought.

Following her second-round victory against Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova at the ongoing Australian Open 2016, Ivanovic addressed the media about her plans for the sport’s mega event to be held in Brazil this year, as she revealed that besides the singles event, the women’s doubles event is also on her radar.

“Yes, I would like to play doubles,” she said. “I was speaking to (Aleksandra) Krunic. She’s my Fed Cup companion. She’s really good doubles player, actually. We are trying to play few tournaments also leading up to Olympics.”

Mixed? “At the moment, no. I think three disciplines would be pushing it a little bit, but let’s see how the year goes.”

Meanwhile, Ivanovic is scheduled to cross the swords with American Madison Keys in the third round of the season-opening Grand Slam Down Under.
