There has been a long-standing debate as to who will win most Grand Slam titles before they retire – Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal.

Nadal closed in on the gap by winning his 16th Major at the US Open earlier this month. So, can he overtake his arch-rival Federer’s all-time record of 19 Slams?

“For me, Rafael can easily reach the 19 Grand Slam titles,” Nadal’s coach Carlos Moya said.

Not that Federer will not add on to his tally, reckons the former world No. 1.

“Roger Federer can also win three more. Discarding the best in history is useless,” Moya added before reminding how the duo was written off a few years back.

Asked who is likely to finish ahead in the race to No. 1 ranking, Moya backed Nadal to cling on to the top spot.

“I see Nadal finishing the year in the lead. He has a good advantage of almost 2000 points, (he) is well physically and fresh mentally.”
