Swiss ace Roger Federer expressed his desire to add on to his 17 Grand Slams as he insists that he’s in a good shape to go the distance at the big stage once again.

Having last won a major at the Wimbledon Championships in 2012, the 34-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, but has still been denied from triumphing at the majors.

Federer made it to the summit clash of both the Wimbledon and US Open last year, but was beaten by top-ranked Novak Djokovic in both the finals.

The Swiss, however, believes that he has the game to pull off yet another glory at the Grand Slams.

“I feel ready to win a major again,” Clubcall quoted Federer. “I went close to winning in Wimbledon and at the US Open; at the Australian Open too.

“Honestly I think I believe I played at a great level in the last two seasons. I moved perfectly on the court. The new racket allowed me to hit my backhand strongly. The speed with serve is also higher with less effort.”

Meanwhile, Federer is currently preparing for the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the year, having kicked-off the clay season with a quarter-final exit from the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
