14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal had a forgettable season in 2015, where he failed to live up to his reputation. From not being able to pull off a single major, to losing his ‘favourite’ tag following a slump in his form, the Spaniard faced all that one would not like to.

But, Arnaud Di Pasquale, a former professional tennis player best known for clinching the bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, backed the Spaniard to regain his form and eventually recapture his fortress at the French Open, tournament he’s won a record nine times.

“I am 100 percent sure that Nadal will go on to win the French Open again,” Arnaud told NewKerala. “He has truly been an amazing player and lately we have seen him improve a lot, especially at the ATP World Tour Finals in London (semi-final appearance). He is getting better and stronger.”

He further opined that Nadal’s tendency to rise up in disruptive situations is a big plus, which is the hallmark of a campaigner.

“In adverse situations, he always brings out the best in him, which is the mark of a champion. His performance has gone down but I will back him to win at least one more time here, if not more,” he added.
