NFL Week 8 Fantasy Rankings: Tight Ends
Despite the emergence of the tight end position as one of the most prominent in fantasy football, a surplus of high-profile injuries has left it as one of the most barren in the NFL.
Patriots star Rob Gronkowski may be back to health and ready to take over as the No. 1 tight end, but the man who formerly occupied that spot, New Orleans Saint Jimmy Graham, is playing through a shoulder injury that has badly sapped his fantasy production.
He played 30 snaps and scored no points in the Saints’ Week 7 loss to the Detroit Lions, and it’s unknown if Graham can move closer to his formerly dominant self when his team takes on the Green Bay Packers in a huge game on Sunday night.
Two top-level tight ends from the AFC West continue to rack up scores, as Denver’s Julius Thomas and San Diego’s Antonio Gates sit atop the current points leaders list.
Greg Olsen isn’t far behind, and with Carolina taking on a suddenly reeling Seattle Seahawks team in Week 8, he should have yet another big game.
Chicago Bear Martellus Bennett has been targeted heavily thus far in 2014, but a hamstring injury limited him in practice this week. He is expected to play in a must-win game against the New England Patriots.
Beyond that, however, it gets a little thin. Here are the Week 8 fantasy rankings for the Top 15 tight ends in the NFL:
