bears vs patriots highlights

The reeling Chicago Bears brought a disappointing 3-4 record into Massachusetts to take on the New England Patriots today (Sun., October 26, 2014).

After a disappointing loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 7, Bears star wideout Brandon Marshall called out several of his teammates in the locker room, including quarterback Jay Cutler.

The Bears needed a strong bounce back performance to save their flailing season. Unfortunately for them, today’s game didn’t start out that way.

Tom Brady and the Patriots got the scoring started with a 6-yard score to tight end Rob Gronkowski (courtesy of Vine):

After a Stephen Gostkowski field goal, the Patriots made it 17-0 with a 1-yard pass to backup tight end Tim Wright (Vine):

The Bears finally got on board with this 25-yard scoring pass to Matt Forte (Vine):

But it wasn’t nearly enough, as New England added their second touchdown to Gronkowski on a 2-yard pass (Vine):

The Patriots weren’t done there, however, going up 31-7 with a late second half touchdown to receiver Brandon Lafell.

They incredibly made it 38-7 with a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown. The Patriots then got an interception to end an absolutely dismal first half for the Bears.

The Pats added insult to injury with an embarrassing 46-yard touchdown from Gronkowski, his third of the day.

With the game basically out of reach, the Bears scored on this incredible touchdown catch by tight end Martellus Bennett (Vine):

Cutler threw a late score to Alshon Jeffery, and New England kicked a field goal to win by a final score of 51-23.
