Panthers vs Bengals Highlights

Today (Sun., October 12, 2014) the Carolina Panthers traveled into Paul Brown Stadium to take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Panthers came in off of a crucial in over the Chicago Bears in Week 6, while the Bengals were blown out by the New England Patriots.

Both teams needed a win to build momentum, and it was Carolina who drew first blood. Star quarterback Cam Newton hit rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin with a 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter (courtesy of Vine):

The Bengals stormed back with a long drive to even the score with this touchdown pass to Brandon Tate (Vine):

Cincinnati went up by a touchdown when running back Giovani Bernard broke an insane 89-yard touchdown run (Vine):

Carolina added a field goal to cut Cincinnat’s lead to 14-10. The Bengals kicked one of their own, leading 17-10 going into the half.

The Bengals were in Carolina territory to start the second half, but Dalton threw a huge interception that lead to Carolina tying it up with a touchdown run by Fozzy Whitaker (Vine):

Carolina added the go-ahead touchdown with Newton’s first rushing score in his last 9 games (Vine):


The Bengals responded with this pinpoint touchdown to No. 1 receiver Mohamed Sanu, tying the game at 24 (Vine):

Carolina took the lead 31-24 with a touchdown from tight end Greg Olsen (Vine):

Cincinnati tied the score with a short touchdown run from rookie Jeremy Hill, who promptly did the Ickey Shuffle (Vine):

Cincinnati added a late field goal to go up 34-31. Carolina tied the game with a late field goal to send it into overtime.

The Bengals promptly drove down the field, adding a field goal to go up by 3. Carolina answered with one of their own.

Cincinnati put together yet another stellar drive that was extended by a 15-yard penalty for Carolina, but they failed to capitalize when Mike Nugent missed a 36-yard field goal. The game ended tied 37-37.
