After a lackluster 2013 that saw his Atlanta Falcons lose many key players to injury, quarterback Matt Ryan is set to regain his stellar 2012 form with star wideout Julio Jones back in the fray.

And when the Tennessee Titans came into the Georgia Dome for tonight’s (August 23, 2014) Week 3 preseason action, Ryan wasted no time in proving that his aerial assault in undoubtedly one of the best in the NFL.

Ryan got the party started early with a 31-yard touchdown pass to former Bears record-setting return man Devin Hester, putting the Falcons up 7-0.

After a Titans field goal, Ryan hooked up with his biggest target in Jones, scoring on a 52-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Check out the play courtesy of SB Nation:

Ryan later hooked up with running back Jacquizz Rodgers on a few throws to set up a Matt Bryant field goal.

Titans quarterback Jake Locker returned fire with a 63-yard touchdown pass to Nate Washington, giving Ryan another chance to score before halftime. Ryan quickly connected with Roddy White twice, Hester twice and Jones again, setting them up for third down on the Titans’ 20-yard line.

Rodgers was eventually stuffed on 4th & 1 to halt the Falcons’ momentum, but Ryan finished the half with impressive numbers, going 17 of 21 for 217 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
