Highlights: Marshawn Lynch Scores Twice As Seahawks Beat Packers
After 901 carries in the last three seasons, Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch was supposed to be set for a decline after so much punishment. “Beast Mode” had a short offseason holdout, prompting speculation that he wanted to make money now with his short window of opportunity as an NFL nearing its close.
From the look of things in tonight’s (Thurs., September 4, 2014) 2014 NFL regular season debut, Lynch didn’t get that memo. He went a long way in silencing his critics by rushing for two touchdowns. His first came on a 9-yard run in the second quarter (courtesy of Fansided Gifs on Vine):
Lynch’s second score came late in the third quarter after the Seahawks picked up a safety off a fumble by Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Vine):
In the end, Lynch torched the porous Green Bay defense for 110 yards on 20 carries with the two scores as the Seahawks won handily by a final score of 36-16.
