It seems as if the sad saga of Adrian Peterson will never stop adding more twists and turns, as news broke from FOX 26 Houston today (Thurs., October 9, 2014) that the embattled star running back may be arrested again for violating the terms of his bond.

Peterson, who was released on $15,000 bond after turning himself and getting booked on serious charges of child abuse by a Texas grand jury, could be re-arrested and have his bond thrown out after admitting to a courthouse staff member that he had “smoked a little weed” before providing a court-mandated urine sample on Wednesday.

The Montgomery County District Attorney has requested that Peterson be arrested to the judge presiding over the case, but any decision is unlikely to be reached today. The judge is facing a recusal hearing that could is scheduled for Friday morning, meaning that an entirely new judge could make the ruling on this new wrinkle to the story.

Peterson’s attorney Rusty Hardin was contacted to elaborate on the situation but was unavailable for comment.

So it seems like Peterson, considered one of the most well respected and admired stars in the NFL just a few short weeks ago, is now heading down an unfortunate path. He’s been all too truthful when questioned about his legal matters, and while be may be guilty, it’s not usually a path that you see athletes take.

Perhaps he’s simply got away with everything prior to this, and that could be why he thought it was okay to beat his child to the point of serious bodily injury.

His legal team pushed to get his trial tentatively set for Dec. 1, but that date could be pushed back much further if he is re-arrested for the alleged drug violation. Either way, Peterson will now be facing a lengthy disciplinary suspension from the NFL if and when he is able to return to playing football.
