This is sort of a ridiculous list. With the increases in points and the increased number of races, of course it is going to be dominated by present, and three recent drivers. There needs to be a way to compare the points totals based on the number of points available during the season that the driver raced in.

Last season the max points available to any one driver was 19×25=475.

In 1970, the max points available was 11×9=99

It gets even worse if you look at the total number of points available to the field.

    2014…19 x (25+18+15+12+10+8+6+4+2+1=101) = 1919/season

    1969…11 x (9+6+4+3+2+1=25) = 275/season

That means there are nearly 7 times as many points available in a season as their were in 1969 (6.978).

In 1969 Jackie Stewart won the championship with 63 points, or 23% of the available points.

In 2014 Lewis Hamilton won with 384 points, or 20% of the available points.

Jackie Stewart only earned 359 points in 9 years. Lewis Hamilton earned more than that in one season, and at this point, Jackie Stewart has one more championship than Lewis does.

So, this is a pretty worthless list, since most of the best drivers in the history of F1 are not on this list, and the list does not represent the level of dominance of these ten drivers in relation to the level of dominance of other drivers through the years.
