Mohammed Shami has set his eyes upon making an India comeback as he plans to participate in the last two matches of the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy.

Shami, who last played for India against England in November last year, has been sidelined with a knee injury. But, the 26-year-old speedster is eyeing to get fit in time before the BCCI announces the squad for the third and fourth Tests against Australia.

“I don’t know yet but if I’m fully fit and comfortable to play, then I may play last two matches,” said Shami, who will represent Bengal in the star-studded 50-over domestic tournament that also features the likes of MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.

The inclusion of Shami in the remaining two Test of the four-match series against Australia at home may well swing the pendulum in India’s way, given the threat he possess with the new as well as the old ball.

Moreover, with India facing a crushing 333-run loss in the series opener in Pune, Shami’s inclusion could make things difficult for the visitors.

“Let’s look forward, there’s still a lot of cricket left in the series. Win and loss is part of the game. We may have a bad day. Let’s not blame anyone and try to focus on the remaining matches,” he continued. “I’m sure we would bounce back.”

The second Test is scheduled to begin from March 4 in Bengaluru, with the other matches following in Ranchi (March 16-20) and Dharamsala (March 25-29).
