West Indies is a full member of ICC but unfortunately they did not get chance to take part in upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 directly. They were outside of top eight teams considering ICC ranking and as a result, they missed the chance. But still now there is a hope to take part there. They just have to qualify the Cricket World Cup Qualifier round where excluding them nine more teams have competed for the chance. So, as per the schedule of qualifier round West Indies faced Papua New Guinea in yesterday. In the match, West Indies won by 6 wickets.

Basically in upcoming ICC WOrld Cup 2019 which is going to be staged at England and Wales, total ten teams will take part. Among them eight teams have confirmed their ticket. For rest two place, ICC has arranged a qualifier round that consists of ten teams. So, till the last of the qualifier round, top two teams will get ticket for the upcoming ICC World Cup.

West Indies is regarded as the most successful team in the tournament where their nearest some opponents are Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland. Rest teams are out of counted. So, in their last match against Papua New Guinea, the result was almost decided.

But obviously team West Indies has to more careful about the above three teams and they can be dangerous even for them.

In the last match which was the 10th match of the tournament and also the game of group A, West Indies and Papua New Guinea faced against each other. The match took place in 8th March, 2018 at Old Hararians, Harare. Papua New Guinea won the toss and decided to bat first.

West Indies came to bowl first and in 42.4 overs, their bowlers took all wickets of Papua New Guinea. They ended their innings scoring full 200 runs where Assad Vala scored highest 57 runs in 89 balls. For West Indies Carlos took five wickets in 10 overs. He was the economy bowler of the team in the match. It was the first time for the bowler to take five wickets in ODI.

So, later West Indies came to chase the score. They lost four wickets in 43 overs and reached the target. Jason Holder scored unbeaten 99 runs in 101 balls. Unfortunately he could not fill up century for the team. Alei Nao took one wicket for Papua New Guinea. So, West Indies won by six wickets so far.
