West Indies qualified for upcoming World Cup 2019

Finally team West Indies qualified for upcoming World Cup 2019 tournament as a result of their last match in Super Six round of ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018. Though, at the beginning team Windies was lost their opening match in Super Six round against Afghanistan but also won the 2nd match against Zimbabwe. Now, in their last match in Super Six round against Scotland, West Indies won considering D/L methods.

However, if team Windies did play full match against Scotland, they could face another defeat because by batting first team West Indies failed to present big score in front of Scottish team.

However, through the match Scotland has got their final result. They finally did not qualify for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 as a result of the match. Including their last match against West Indies, Scotland played all three matches here but won only once against United Arab Emirates. They faced defeat consecutive twice times where Ireland and West Indies beat them in the tournament.

West Indies and Scotland both qualified for the playoff round of this Qualifier tournament as the two of six teams. But only two of them will get chance to take part in the main event. West Indies has secured their place and the rest team is yet to qualify.

The match between West Indies and Scotland was the 31st match of the tournament which was executed in 21st March, 2018 at Harare Sports Club, Harare.

In the match the team Scotland was favoured by luck and won the toss. They took the right decision and came to ball. Their bowlers made things possible and tied the Windies innings so early. Only Evin Lewis scored highest 66 runs for Windies team. They played 48.4 overs and lost all wickets and in the meantime they scored 198 runs so far. Safyaan Sharif took three wickets for Scotland in the match.

198 runs in ODI was easy to chase and with Cross and Coetzer, Scotland started their innings. They went slow but steady. Jones scored 14 runs, MacLeod scored 21 runs and Berrington scored 33 runs for the team. Munsey and Leask remained not out with 32 and 14 runs respectively. In 35.2 overs Scotland scored 125 runs by losing five wickets. Then umpires of the match applied D/L method and so, West Indies won by 5 runs in the match. Both teams have played three matches each in Super Six round and West Indies have qualified for the final in the tournament as well.
