Krunal Pandya played a crucial role in Mumbai Indians’ 40-run win over Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League on Friday night.

First, the all-rounder smashed unbeaten 37 off 26 balls – stitching a 54-run partnership with brother Hardik Pandya (32) – to propel Mumbai to 168-5 on a slow and sluggish Feroz Shah Kotla pitch.

Later, he bowled a couple of economical overs, picking up the big wicket of Rishabh Pant en route, as Delhi were restricted to 128-9 in 20 overs.

And in the process, Krunal produced a moment of brilliance.

Bowling the 13th over of the second innings, he unleashed an awkward delivery in a quest to take the pace off the ball and make it harder for the batsman to hit a biggie.

It was a clear imitation of Kedar Jadhav’s style, who bowls this way more often than not.

Meanwhile, Mumbai jumped to the second position in standings by the virtue of their latest win. They are scheduled to next face Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
