Two Uncaps to Join England Test Team on Fourth Test against India

Two new faces are to join England test cricket team for the rest two matches of the five match series taking place in India. England management has called up all rounder Liam Dawson and Keaton Jennings to play the matches due to start on December 8.

Jennings is to replace Haseeb Hamid who got a finger injury during the third match in Mohali test. Hamid played an innings of 59 runs with his broken finger and remained unbeaten. Sadly the most talked player of England team he has to set back for home early. Indian captain Virat Kohli has already met the youngster and talked to him.

On the other side Liam Dawson will take the place of Zafar Ansari who is also suffering from a back injury. Zafar Ansari was injured during the second test in Vishakapatnam and missed the Mohali test. Until now, Ansari is to stay with the team to get medical attention and plans to return home on December 8, the day the fourth match of the series is to start.England Vs India 2016

Jennings (24) debuted for Durham in 2012 and is to debut for England Lions against UAE in Dubai on December 1. Jennings is the top run scorer of Specsavers County Championship in 2016 with 1548 runs with an average of 64. Consistency in performance has earned him a place is the England Lions. If everything is fine Jennings will be joining the England team within few days to wear on his debut test cap.

Jennings is the son of former South Africa coach Ray Jennings. He is speechless to hear the call of his son for the England team. Jennings was confirmed by Andy Flower, the team coach. All his Durham mates are happy and some are jumping off the wall.

Dawson (26), who has already played the short over formats for England team, will also get his debut cap this December. Dawson has player for England Lions and is currently playing for Rangpur Raiders in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Dawson earned the nod over Jack Leach despite having lower performance than him. Dawson got only 2o wicket in Championship in 2016 whereas Leach claimed 65 ranking him the highest wicket taker in Division One Championship. Leach is way to go before joining the national team, his captain in Somerset said. On the other hand, Dawson, according the selection committee, is better batsman and fielder with a spin variety in bowling.

Jennings and Dawson are going to be the probable debutante in England-India test series. Jennings is going to be number eleventh player to open with Alastair Cook after 2012.

The next teat is going to be played in Mumbai from December 8. England players by this time having short days off and some are spending the close in Dubai and some are in India. The five match test series has not been good for England, especially the last one. India has taken 2-0 lead in the series so far.
