Sri Lanka faced defeat against India at Colombo

Sri Lanka cricket team is doing better in T20I competition everyday. They won the inaugural match in Nidahas Trophy 2018 against India but in their second match which was against Bangladesh, the Tigers made an extraordinary victory over the Lions. Sri Lanka presented 215 runs target in front of the Tigers and Bangladesh made it in 19.2 overs sharp. They won by five wickets. Now, in the 4th match which was the 3rd match of the Lions, Sri Lanka faced defeat against India at Colombo. Basically the stadium was R. Premadasa Stadium located at Colombo.

Now, the Lions is in under pressure and they have just one match in hand which will be against Bangladesh. If they fail to win the match, they could not move to the final of Nidahas Trophy 2018 as local team.

Nidahas Trophy 2018 is a tri nation T20I competition which is hosted at Sri Lanka. Along with them India and Bangladesh have participated there. So, India started the tournament by facing a defeat against Sri Lanka in the opening match. But they won the 2nd match against Bangladesh. Now, by playing three matches, they won twice times so far. They have also one match in hand which will be against the Tigers.

The 4th match of the tournament was executed between India and Sri Lanka in 12th March, 2018 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In the match, India won by six wickets.

India won the toss and decided to field first. In the meantime, the match was affected by the rain and so, the overs were reduced to 19 overs per side. So, the Lions came to open the innings first. They played full 19 overs and lost nine wickets. Besides, they also scored 152 runs in the meantime. Kusal Mendis scored 55 runs highest for the Lions. Shardul Thakur took four wickets for India in the match. Basically, India has the most strongest and longest batting line up and so, to defeat them the Loons had to present more runs there. But they failed to do so.

However, later India came to chase 152 runs against Sri Lanka. In 17.3 overs by losing four wickets team India made the chase successful. Manish Pandey scored highest 42 runs unbeaten for the team. Akila Dananjaya took two wickets for the Lions. So, Men in Blues won by six wickets in the 4th match of the tournament where Shardul Thakur received player of the match award later.
