South Africa won 1st Test by 72 runs

Indian cricket team which is also known as Men in Blue are currently touring South Africa. They are scheduled to play a Test, a ODIs and a T20Is tournament against the local team South Africa. The competition started with long format cricket. The 1st Test between South Africa and India was started in 5th January, 2018 and it was hosted at Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town. In the match, South Africa won 1st Test by 72 runs against India.

South Africa won 1st Test by 72 runs

Earlier in 5th January, 2018 South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. They are the local team and knew their field very well. But they faced batting collapsed in their first innings. Team Proteas scored 286 runs in the first innings and lost all wickets. They even could not play the whole first day. AB de Villiers scored highest 65 runs for the team South Africa. So, came to bat for the first innings, team India faced the same problem and their batsmen were getting all out so early. Coincidentally, both teams played almost 73 overs in the first innings. India scored 209 runs in their first innings where Hardik Pandya scored 93 runs so far. So, they could not took lead of the game. In 3rd day, the match could not be grounded due to rain and so full day was wasted. South Africa came to bat for second innings and getting all out by scoring 130 runs in 41.2 overs. So, they did able to present almost good runs in front of the team India. The target was 207. But team India scored 135 runs in their second innings and lost all wickets. So, South Africa won by 72 runs in 1st match.

In the first innings, Elgar and Markram started the innings for Proteas and both failed to touch double figure score. Amla was no better than them in the innings. Later, Rest players played almost good but no one touched three figure score. Villiers scored 65 runs, Plessis scored 62 runs, De Kock scored 43 runs and Maharaj scored 35 runs for Proteas in the first innings.

On the other hand, in the first innings the situation of team India was more bad. Only Pandya made a significant score which was 93 runs but his nearest player Pujara scored 26 runs.

2nd innings was more worst for both teams. South Africa scored totally 130 runs in 2nd innings where Villiers scored highest 35 runs and Markram scored 34 runs so far. And for India, Ashwin scored highest 37 runs and captain Kohli scored 28 runs so far.
