South Africa scored 286 runs in 1st innings at Cape Town

Indian cricket team used to play most of the series at their home ground but in recent time, they are visiting South Africa where they will play a dual series against Proteas. The series consists of Test, ODI and T20I competitions and considering the report, they have already started the long format series against South Africa in 5th January, 2018. In the first Test, South Africa scored 286 runs in 1st innings at Cape Town against India. In the meantime, they lost all wickets.

In 5th January, 208 the first Test between South Africa and India has started and Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town are the host venue of the match. Michael Gough and Richard Kettleborough are the two field umpires where both are from England. Earlier in 5th January, 2018 South AFrica won the toss and decided to bat first. But though it was their home venue but Indian bowlers tied them within limited scores and so, they could not finished the first day but played total 73.1 overs in 1st innings. Their first innings finished with 286 runs where Ab de Villiers scored highest 65 runs.

However, South Africa came to bat by winning the toss. Elgar and Markram started the innings for Proteas. But in 0 runs, Elgar was gone with 0 and in 7 runs Markram was gone as well. Later, in 12 runs Proteas lost their 3rd wickets and fallen into pressure. Later, AB de Villiers and captain du Plessis made a partnership that added more than 100 runs to the scoreboard. De Villiers gone with 65 runs and Plessis was gone with 62 runs so far. Once agai De Kock and Philander made a partnership that added few more runs. De Kock scored 43 runs and Philander scored 23 runs so far. Middle order and lower order players all scored two figure runs but that was not enough to make big innings. Maharaj scored 35 runs ad Rabada scored 26 runs for Proteas. Finally, their 1st innings finished with 286 runs. Humar took highest four wickets for India where Ashwin took two wickets so far.

However, team India has not much good histories against South Africa. Since the beginning, team India played total 33 Test matches against Proteas where India won ten matches and lost thirteen matches. Ten matches finished with draw. So, it seems that the both teams are same category and balanced team and at the ground of South Africa, they are undoubtedly regarded as favourite.
