South Africa finished 2nd day successfully

The 2nd Test between South Africa and Australia has already started. At St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth the match started in 9th March, 2018 where Australia came to bat first for winning the toss. They failed to play full first day but getting all out in 71.3 overs. Later, Proteas came to bat for their first innings and as stated by the latest news South Africa finished 2nd day successfully and still they have three wickets in hand.

Australia is very powerful team in long format competition as well as top experienced and one of the most oldest Test playing nation as well. Recently they beat England at Australia in Ashes series by 4 – 0 games. But they are bit weaker in ODI format. They faced a ODI series defeat against England. Now, they are travelling South Africa and their purpose is to play a Test series against Proteas. With the warm up match, their competition started in Australia. Before playing the competition against South Africa officially, they played a warm up match against South Africa A team and won the match. In 1st March, 2018 the opening Test match between them was executed. In the match, Australia beat the local team quite easily. So, they are now leading the series by 1 – 0 game. Now, they have three matches in hand and to secure the series, they have to win at least two matches so far. Now, in the 2nd Test which is executed at Port Elizabeth, South Africa is in better position and the match is going the path of draw.

Australia started to bat at Port Elizabeth at first. In 71.3 overs Australia scored 243 runs and lost all wickets. David Warner scored highest 63 runs in the match for Aussie team. Kagiso Rabada took five wickets against Australia in the match and played the vital role to destroy Aussie innings.

Later, South Africa came to bat for their first innings. With Elgar and Markram Proteas started their innings. In 22 runs Proteas lost opener Markran. Later, Rabada came but scored 29 runs and gone. Amla and Elgar played a bit well for the team. Both touched half century in the match. Elgar was gone with 57 runs and Amla scored 56 runs so far. AB De Villiers remained not out with 75 runs for the team. With Philander he will start the 3rd day of the 2nd Test. Now, by losing seven wickets Proteas scored 273 runs. They played total 97.5 overs in the meantime. Mitchell Marsh and Cummins took two wickets each for the team Australia.
